User roles in the Independent Living app

Modified on Mon, 20 Oct at 2:36 PM

There are three main user roles in the Independent Living app. Each role has different access levels and responsibilities.

Administrator

The Administrator has full access to the app, identical to the Owner of the location.
An Administrator can:

  • Add or remove users

  • Edit and manage the setup for the Independent Living service

  • Change settings related to the alarm receiving centre (ARC) connection

Administrators have complete control of both the configuration and service settings.

User

A User can view all information in the app but cannot edit or change any settings.
This includes:

  • Viewing daily activity and sensor status

  • Receiving alerts and notifications

  • Monitoring updates from the alarm receiving centre

Users are typically relatives or caregivers who want to follow the system’s status without the ability to make changes.

Alert Mate

An Alert Mate only has access to the Independent Living service.
This role is designed for people who should be notified when an alarm occurs but do not need full access to the system.
Alert Mates can:

  • Receive alerts and add comments or information about an alarm

  • View the current status of the service
They cannot see or modify system setup details.

Guest user (future feature)

Guest users are related to door lock and alarm system functionality, which will be introduced later.
Guest users will not have access to the app but can be given access to open doors or use a keypad.
