How this service works

The Independent Living service is designed to fit naturally into any type of home. It can be installed in houses, apartments, or assisted living facilities – anywhere a resident lives independently and daily activity can be monitored safely.

The system is built around the rooms and doors that are used most frequently, ensuring that essential routines can be detected reliably. This setup allows the service to identify normal movement patterns and trigger alerts when something deviates from the usual.

Recommended setup

For the service to function optimally, we recommend the following configuration:

  • 1 motion sensor for the living room

  • 1 motion sensor for the kitchen

  • 1 motion sensor for one bedroom

  • 1 motion sensor for one bathroom

  • 1 motion sensor for the hallway or entrance area

  • 1 sensor for the refrigerator, to detect daily use

  • 1 magnetic door sensor for the main entrance door

  • 1 smart plug to monitor an electronic device, such as a TV or coffee machine

  • 1 SOS button, typically placed in a high-risk area like the bathroom or stairs

This setup covers the rooms and appliances most important for daily living and safety.

When additional sensors are needed

If the resident has extra rooms that are used frequently, such as a second TV room or hobby area, it is recommended to add sensors in those rooms as well. Additional sensors can be purchased and added at any time without affecting the monthly subscription cost.

The same applies if you:

  • Use more than one door for entering or leaving the home

  • Want to monitor more electronic devices

  • Want to place extra SOS buttons in areas where falls are more likely

With the right sensor placement, the system provides accurate and continuous monitoring while maintaining privacy and comfort in any type of home.
