Does the system work during a power outage?

Yes. If the power goes out, the Independent Living service continues to function as normal. All sensors are battery powered, and both the gateway and the siren have built-in backup batteries.


The gateway’s backup battery typically lasts up to 3 hours, but may last longer depending on use and signal conditions.


The smart plug will naturally stop working during the outage, since it requires power.
